Walk Now for Autism Speaks
During my weekend I participated in Los Angeles’ Autism Walk. I walked for Team Troy who are a team based on a local family whose son, Troy is afflicted with Autism. It was very moving just by reading cars marked with writings such as “I Love my Autistic Son”. I ended up watching Aj Rafael perform a bit after the walk. I am very happy to say that together we were able to raise a little over $1,500. I personally talked to the father of Troy and he stated that it didn’t matter how much money we raised, it was enough to come out and be informed because people don’t understand what it’s like for someone to have Autism. I personally have worked with Autistic kids and have made friends with people who suffer from Asperger, a milder form of Autism. My friend who suffers from Aspergers says that growing up it was hard to talk to people or be a social person in general. Become involved, informed, and help raise Autism Awareness.
